Active Transport, specifically Walking and Cycling, was of major interest during community engagement on the Integrated Transport Strategy (ITS). Council has commenced the development of a Walking and Cycling Plan in parallel to the ITS to build on this Community enthusiasm for investment in Walking and Cycling infrastructure.

The draft Walking and Cycling Plan seeks to enhance walking and cycling as a main mode of transport through the creation of a safer and more accessible network.

The Plan has the following focus areas:

  • Improve walking and cycling infrastructure
  • Promote and encourage walking and cycling
  • Provide information, invest in data and monitoring

Are we on the right track?
